Josiah Haken

Director of Outreach- (EMAIL)

Bio:
Josiah spent most of the first 15 years of his life in Yaounde, Cameroon as a "missionary kid." He moved back to Hershey, PA where he attended high school when is parents felt God's call to serve at a church in the area they called home. Josiah married his best friend in Spetember 2005 at the ripe old age of 19. After working for a kitchen remodeling company to make ends meet while his wife attended nursing school, Josiah felt led to quit his job and move to NJ to be closer to a church community that he had been attending for some time. After a year of closed doors and very little promise of making it in the Garden State, Josiah was introduced to The Relief Bus through the current president, Juan Galloway, who happened to attend the same church community that Josiah moved to be in connection with. And now you are up to speed.

What I Do With The Relief Bus:
I am an outreach team leader with The Relief Bus. I drive the bus, oversee the food preparation for the outreach, lead the teams that serve on the streets, and I am in charge of maintaining and distributing all material donations that are given for the people we serve on The Relief Bus.

Why I Work With The Relief Bus:
I believe that God has not given up on humanity and when we serve the poor wanderer, the prostitute, and the drug addict, we have the distinct privilege of serving Jesus Christ, Himself. And I get all the free soup I want.
